(This great Stotra Rathna was written by Appayya Deekshitha(1520-1593). He was the greatest interpreter of Advaitha Sidhantha after Adhi Sankara. This stotra is written in praise of the Lord Margabandhu of Virinchipuram, near Vellore of South Arcot district of Tamil Nadu.

People who undertake any journey should recite it before traveling, on the days when they are traveling and after the completion of travel.  read more »

The muula mantra of Lord Dhanvantari the Puranic form of God as the Divine Healer was performed followed by Mrityunjaya Homam. The maha Mrityunjaya Mantra from the Yajur Veda Samhita is one of the most powerful mantras for japa or homa. It invokes Lord Shiva in His form as the conquerer of death. Hundreds of different ayurvedic herbs were offered to the fire. The Tibetan Medicine Buddha mantra was chanted for over an hour into the fire. A very powerful effect was noticed by all present. In ancient India there was a king called Thakshar. His daughter was actually Lord Shiva's wife Parvati in one of her incarnations, so Thakshar was Shiva's father-in-law. When he discovered this, he became very arrogant and began to disrespect Lord Shiva.
